Commodore 64 Plug and Play Games Console
Those of us between the ages of 25 and 35 almost certainly have a number of things in common....and we don't mean putting on a bit of weight and losing a bit of hair! We mean we all share those glorious 1980's memories of owning a number of pairs of fluorescent 'Terry Towelling Socks', of dancing at the school disco to Superman, and of wearing tight nylon t-shirts! However, none of those even came close to the experience of being part of a true revolution in video gaming. Oh yes, we were there to witness the introduction of the legend that is the Commodore 64! Such was the popularity of this wonderful games console, it is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as "The highest selling home computer of all time", with global sales exceeding 30 million! 6 million were sold in the UK alone and it still has a loyal group of some 4 million users across the world. Now when you think of the 1980's, the Commodore 64 is up there in popularity with Dirty Den, leg-warmers and Duran Duran! Sadly, such memories seem such a long time ago now. "Wait a minute!" we hear you say... aren't Dirty Den, leg warmers and Duran Duran in at the moment? Why, yes they are, as the country seems to have gone 80's mad! So where is the Commodore 64?Well search no longer - The Commodore 64 is back!Loaded with 30 of the original games, the Commodore 64 Plug 'n' Play will have you glued to your TV for hours on end! Unlike the original machine, you don't need to wait 37 minutes for some of the games to load! Nope, due to modern technology the games load in seconds. Simply plug it into your TV and you're ready to go.The built-in games include Summer Games, Winter Games, Pitstop II, Eliminator, World Karate, Speedball, Championship Wrestling, Surfing, Sumo Wrestling, Jumpman Junior and many more. Classics! They are the original games with the original graphics, the original sound and the original gameplay. What makes the Commodore 64 Plug 'n' Play even cooler is that it is basically a Commodore 64 in the form of a joystick, so it can do anything the original console used to do. You can easily get into the original C64 mode (wiggle the joystick left and right as fast as you can when you power on or reset) and from here you have access to anything that the C64 could do (like word processing and spreadsheet accounting - yippee). For the real die-hard fans you can connect tape drives, floppy drives and even a standard PS2 keyboard! But lets face it, did anyone ever used to do anything but play games on these things! Please note - The UK version is not released until April, but we have an advanced shipment from the USA! As a result, it is designed to work on NTSC televisions only. But don't panic! Basically this means that if your telly has been made in the last 5 years you will be fine. If it hasn't you'll have to wait until April when the PAL (UK) version comes out!Requires 4 x AA batteries (not supplied).
